NANCLARES Y PRIETO VITICULTORES

NANCLARES Y PRIETO VITICULTORES

Alberto Nanclares began cultivating the albariño vineyard that surrounds his farmhouse in 1993, in the region of Salnes, Rías Baixas. He became a wine producer officially a few years later with the acquisition of new parcels in the area, before founding Nanclares y Prieto Viticultores in 2015 with Silvia Prieto. Today they produce a unique range of wines from 7.81 hectares in total. 2.07 hectares are owned vineyards, cultivated organically. The wines are crafted with minimal intervention and are aged on their lees for added complexity and textural nuances. The vineyards are dispersed over different sub-regions of Rías Baixas (Cambados, Meis, Sanxenxo, Meaño, Barro, Ribadumia, Portas), expressing different styles of albariño and other local varieties according to variations in soil and microclimate. Some vines are up to 100 years old, planted on a rich topsoil of sandy clay over granitic rock. Moderate use of sulphur along with bottling without clarification allows varietal character to express itself fully. Demand for Alberto and Silvia’s wines continue to soar year on year, all are available in Barcelona through Caskadia.

FAZENDA PRÁDIO

FAZENDA PRÁDIO

Fazenda Prádio represents all the poetry of a beautiful region, remarkable for both its diversity and its history. Located on the banks of the Miño river, the Prádio winery produces only single varietal wines; a true exception in the Ribeira Sacra DO. Mencía, Merenzao, Brancellao, Caiño Longo, Dona Branca and Loureira are all grown in the most natural way. Each grape variety has its own style and characteristics that produce delicate and refined wines with exceptional length and harmony. These Galician gems tend to be enjoyed by our customers during exclusive tastings at Caskadia, owing to their limited production.

BODEGAS GÓMEZ Y RIAL

BODEGAS GÓMEZ Y RIAL

Rías Baixas is a tiny DO (Designation of Origin) found in the Galicia region in the north-west corner of Spain. Famous worldwide for its white wines made from the Albariño grape, Rías Baixas is home to Bodegas Gómez y Rial; a small, family-run estate of just four hectares. The nearby Ulla river and a mountain microclimate provide ideal growing conditions for the production of healthy grapes, which are harvested by hand. Alargo is one of our ‘go to’ wines and a favourite among many clients, never failing to satisfy even the most demanding palates. Expressive fruit and floral aromas, zesty minerality, and vibrant acidity contribute to its elegant mouthfeel and excellent all-round structure.
