ABOUT
Régis Poissinet is a man on a mission. After years of meticulous vineyard management and the astute blending of past vintages, release time has finally come for this exclusive range of biodynamic Champagnes, consisting of three wines: Terre d’Irizée Extra Brut NV, Irizée Meunier Extra Brut 2013 and Irizée Chardonnay Extra Brut 2014. Located in Cuchery in the Vallée de la Marne, Régis Poissinet works mainly with Pinot Meunier along with Chardonnay and some Pinot Noir. During our latest tasting trip to the region, we were left astounded by the complexity and finesse of these low dosage (1.7g -3.5g per litre) Champagnes. No expense is spared during the winemaking and barrel-ageing period. Such is their depth that, unlike most Champagnes, we recommend slowly decanting them to allow them to open-up fully. These are wonderful examples of biodynamic viticulture producing terroir-driven, precise wines with high ageing potential. Irizée Meunier 2013 is also available in a painted edition, the bottle artwork was designed by French artist Daniel Castan.
