DOMAINE ROUGEOT PÈRE ET FILS
Bourgogne Côte d’Or, Meursault, Pommard, Saint Romain, Volnay
Pierre-Henri Rougeot cultivates 13 hectares of family-owned vines across appellations in Meursault, Monthélie, Saint Romain, Pommard and Volnay. The estate was certified organic for the 2020 vintage, biodynamic practices are also adhered to and conversion towards full certification is ongoing. As well as a minimal intervention approach throughout, the estate also produces several cuvées with no added sulphur, these stand out from their other wines with alternate diagonal stripe labels and limited production. The wines are impeccably crafted in an 18th Century stone cellar in the centre of Meursault, combining quintessential Burgundy with Pierre-Henri’s natural winemaking philosophy. Vinification is carried out gently and meticulously to produce wines with precision and maximum expression of terroir. These range from Bourgogne Côte d’Or (red and white) to Premier Crus which include Meursault-Charmes and Volnay-Santenots. All the wines share a common vivacity and softness which we look for in minimal intervention wines. We discovered Pierre-Henri thanks to our friends at Grassl Glass, and how grateful we are.
